Announcing a beer pong tournament

Format, size, opening registration and managing the teams.

A tournament isn't a separate thing: you switch it on in the event form. When creating the event (or later, in the editor), the "Beer pong tournament" switch opens the tournament fields, and the tournament is created together with saving the event. The panel's Tournaments page lists your already existing tournaments.

What you provide

These settings can be changed in the event editor until the tournament starts. After the start the draw is built on them, so they get locked. A tournament can't be attached to an expired event.

The difference between the formats is described by the beer pong basics article, in the same words that participants read.

Registration

You open and close registration on the tournament's live page, with the "Open registration" button. While it is closed, teams see the tournament but can't sign up. You can also add a team yourself if someone signs up on site.

Registration can only be opened BEFORE the tournament starts. If the tournament has already started, the system rejects opening it: the draw already exists by then.

Removing and banning a team

You can remove a team from the tournament, but only before the start: afterwards its already drawn matches would be left without an owner.

A ban is stronger: the team is left out of all your future tournaments, and the system also removes it from all your tournaments that haven't started yet. If you ask, it can also be removed from a running tournament: in that case its opponent gets a 1–0 win in the currently open match. The members of the team get a notification and a push message about the ban. You can undo the ban later.

The tournament's status can be "Upcoming", "Live" or "Finished". Participants see the same in the app.
