Venues and venue check-in

The venue page, and how you check in to the place itself.

A venue is a page of its own: not a single event, but the place itself. On the Home screen it opens by tapping the venue cards, on a sheet sliding up from the bottom.

What you find on the venue's page

• The venue's cover image, logo, name and address.
• An "Open" or "Closed" indicator.
• If there is an event announced there for the day, its title and the number of interested people.
• The introduction and social pages of the organizer who runs the venue.
• The capacity, if given.

"Open" here doesn't mean opening hours: it shows whether there is an event announced at the venue today. If there isn't, the page shows "Closed", even if the place is physically open.

Venue check-in

On the venue's page a Check-in button appears, with which you confirm that you are at the place itself. This differs from event check-in: that belongs to a specific event, this one to the place.

• The button only appears if the venue is "Open", that is there is an event announced there for the day, and you are logged in.
• It needs location, and you really have to be there: at most 30 meters from the venue.
• It counts once a day per venue. A second tap that day doesn't record a new one.

Venue check-in also builds your daily streak, the same way opening the app does. The streak grows if you also had an entry the day before; if you skip a day, it starts over.

It says I'm too far, but I'm standing right there.

The limit is 30 meters, and the phone's location can be inaccurate indoors. Go closer to the entrance or outside, and try again.

I can't see the Check-in button.

Either you aren't logged in, or the venue is currently "Closed", that is there is no event announced there for the day. In that case there is nothing to check in to.

Do I have to check in at the venue?

No. You can browse and request an event reminder without checking in. Check-in builds your streak, and confirms to the organizer that you were there.
