Running the tournament live

Check-in, draw, recording results, next round.

On the day of the tournament you use the live management page in the panel. It has four tabs: Teams, Matches, Rounds and Standings. The results recorded here are immediately updated in participants' apps too.

The flow

  1. On the Teams tab you check in the teams that showed up.
  2. With the "Start tournament" button you start the tournament: the system draws the first round.
  3. The matches appear divided among the tables.
  4. When a match ends, you enter the score of both teams and close it.
  5. When all matches of the round are closed, you start the next with the "Next round" button.

The draw only works with the CHECKED-IN teams, but only if you checked in at least one team. If you checked in none, the system assumes you didn't use check-in, and everyone goes into the draw. To start you need at least two teams with players.

Recording the result

You must enter the score of both teams (0–99), otherwise the match can't be closed. This is so that a half-entered result doesn't accidentally produce a 0-point loss. For a bye, where there is no opponent, this doesn't apply.

A closed match can be reopened and corrected after a confirmation, and the standings recalculate by themselves.

You can only correct before the round is closed. Once you have drawn the next round, the results of earlier rounds are locked: otherwise the "losing" team would keep playing. The results of a finished tournament can't be changed at all.

If it goes wrong

With the "Restart tournament" button you can reset it to the starting state. In that case all matches and results are deleted, the winner is deleted, the check-ins are reset, and registration will be closed. The registered teams do remain. This is the emergency exit if the draw started with a wrong format or an incomplete field.

The same from the participants' side is described by the how a tournament runs article.
