Map and location

What we use your location for, and how you control it.

The map tab is in the middle of the bottom menu. It shows the upcoming events by their venue (always the nearest upcoming event at a venue), and the cities with how many events they have. If you granted location permission, your own position is shown too. Your own position appears only on your device: other users cannot see where you are.

What the permission is needed for

• So that on launch we can set the city closest to you on the home screen.
• So that you can see yourself on the map.
• So that event and venue check-in work.

Background location

We ask for this separately. Its only purpose is the automatic check-in when you arrive at an event. Without it every other function of the app works, we just only check you in if the app is open at the venue.

You can withdraw the permission at any time in your phone's settings, for the Vibelify app. There is no separate switch for it inside the app. You can read about the location data recorded so far in the your data article.
